I think it was a wise decision to have an original cast of adversaries. I think it disguises the limitations a bit since you don't have expectations as to how many enemies should be on the screen at one time or how they should be arranged. I love Super Mario Land 2, but there are moments where I feel like I'm playing a lesser version of a console game. The first game doesn't have that problem. |

Producers used to talk Stallone into making films they knew were bad by telling him that Schwarzenegger was interested in playing the lead. Arnold himself started the rumor that he was interested in Stop or My Mom Will Shoot. Arnold had a couple of potshots in his movies as well, like saying Terminator 2 was Stallone's best role in Last Action Hero or having his character from Twins shrug off a poster of Stallone as Rambo. |

I do think they should have taken five minutes to translate the character names, and I've one reviewer nitpick the jumping mechanics, but I've never had a problem with the game. It's essentially Super Mario Bros. Lite. |

But as I understand it, it goes a little something like this: Goldar was killed in the first episode of the Japanese version, but the American version decided to let him live and designed a new costume so that he could be a recurring character. The absence of his wings in all new footage was explained away by saying that they were taken from him as punishment for his defeat. He fought Jason in human form, but I don't think he ever again battled the Power Rangers. I kinda hoped for a rematch, but I guess one wasn't coming since they didn't have the stock footage for it. I didn't know that at the time though. |

But they don't have the same chemistry as Rey and Finn. Also, there's a long history of Hollywood pairing black men with Latinas or Asian women to avoid them having white girlfriends. I dislike it when movies and shows gratuitously pair two people together simply because one's a guy and one's a chick, but this is one case where the chemistry feels genuine. If you told me the actors were dating in real life, I'd believe it. That, and as much as I hate forced pairings, I think it's unfair to say "let's not do it this time" simply because the guy is black. If Finn were white, there's a 100% chance he'd be Rey's lover. And that's the main reason. I don't want them to dodge the obvious couple simply because the guy is black. |

Movies and TV are just kind of a natural progression of things. TV has been pretty interracial for a while now. It was motion pictures that were lagging behind. They were proud to be diverse when it was a show for which you take it or leave it, but they were reluctant to be inclusive when it came to movies which people had to pay ticket prices for. I'm glad Hollywood is finally stepping up and saying, "You know what? Fuck you. If an interracial couple is enough to keep you from watching a film, we don't want your money anyway." It would still be nice to get a canon Rey x Finn pairing though. |

That said, I'd rather play it for 20 minutes to half an hour than to play Lost Levels for that length of time. Lost Levels is truly the worst 2D platformer in the Mario library. Just because a game is difficult, that doesn't mean it can't be fun. But that one isn't even well structured and it offers nothing new aside from strong gusts of wind and a cloud level background. |
